新课标总体目标为依据，试题共分听力20分、笔试80分两部分。整份试卷试题中、

4、图片生活化
本卷全部采用贴近学生的兴趣和生活实际的图片，类型除了和课本有关的外，还增加了中学生喜爱的明星、奥运会、国际新闻任务、国家领导对老百姓的关心、学生游戏、社会实践、动物、好学天才等一些趣味图片，与学校息息相关的画面，如广播操比赛、才艺展示和人与动物等；能在考试中既获得新知识，同时又对他们进行了爱国、爱家及爱我美丽的校园教育，激发学生的爱国、爱家和爱校的激情让考试和现实生活紧密结合起来。
5、推进学生课外进行自主阅读
本卷采用了数篇短文，生动有趣，同时有一定的教育意义，其目的通过课外阅读，提高学生的阅读能力和自学能力，能把英语更好的运用到实际生活中，养成良好的阅读习惯。
6、注重素质教育，关注中考改革
为了减少差生面，提高学生的自信心，试题内容大部分都是基础知识，附加题的第一部分就是送分题。对学生得分进行A、B、C、D制，以适应中考改革。
7、多采用激励性话语
为了减轻学生们应考时的压力，开头就对学生充满自信“有自信、不怕艰难、喜欢追求美好的人生。这就是你—菊花！”。中间也不时穿插一些“相信你的词汇丰富并能学以致用！”、“相信你能看仔细想清楚选得”、“老师为你的风采而喝彩”最后“你真棒！祝你寒假快乐！”、“Happy New Year!”等一些有针对性地增加教师的鼓励性的话语，风趣幽默又带又激励性，结合学生考试的心理，不断对学生予以鼓励。虽然是一次考试却没有往日的紧张，他们像在进行一次愉快的旅行。 |
