教村分析
New media 选自全日制普通高级中学教科书(新课标)高二上Unit 2。本单元的中心话题是“新闻媒体”,具体涉及到新闻传媒的种类,新闻采访与报道、新闻话题、新闻阅读等。Speaking部分也是围绕着这一个中心展开的。它提供了十个新闻标题内容,要求学生以分组讨论形式选出其中5个新闻标题内容,讨论教程中每个学生必须运用所给的8个句式表达自己的观点或对别的选择提出不同意见。在选择完毕后再与组内其他成员进行比较。这一设讲活动不但能促进学生们对有关新闻标题的认识、学习新闻选择的标准,还可以丰富学生在陈述观点过程中口头运用词汇和句型进行表达和交流的能力。
学生分析
本校普高学生为厦门公办学校招生录取最后一批学生,其素质不言而喻,学校又地处杏林城乡结合部,学生学习氛围差,英语学科尤为明显,所以作为英语教师要结合实际采取切实可行的教学方法激发学生的学习兴趣。由于本单元话题与学生们的生活息息相关,学生可以很快进入主题,只是言之不畅罢了。基于此,本人在组织教学过程中要给学生适当的提示和扶助。
设计理念
《英语课程标准》倡导体验、实践、参与、交流和合作的学习方式,强调学生能用英语做事情。为此,教师要切实改变传统的教学方式,特别是口语课堂教学,提倡开放的学习方式,鼓励学生创造性地运用语言,在“互动”、“开放”和“创造”中,给学生相当大的主动权。同时,要求教师与学生进行广泛的合作和沟通,必要时进行指导和点拔。基于此,本课堂试运用以上的模式进行教学。本课采用任务型教学途径,为用而学,用中学,学了就用,学生带着明确的任务目标,积极主动地进行学习,从而师生顺利完成课堂目标。
教学目标

1.导入
T: Being the members of the society , we all cares about what happens aroud us or even what happpens at home and abroad. How can you do so ?
Ss: By reading newspapers and magazines, watching TV , listening to the radio, surfing the Internet.
T: What do you call these things ?
Ss: News media.
T: Do you wish to be an editor ?
Ss: Yes, very much .
T: Ok, now , it’s time for us to be the editors of newspaper. Here is a list of ten things that happened today . Look at the screen (Teacher shows the screen and read through the list to the whole class.) |
.200 people died in an earthquake in Turkey.
.China beat Brazil 5-1 in football .
.France elected a new President .
.Three children from your city were killed .
.Someone robbed a bank in Shanghai.
.Food prices are going up .
.A house in your town burned down , nobody was injured.

2.任务设置。
T: Now ,you’ve known the ten things ,but you only need to report five of them. So, first decide which events you are going to put in your newspaper. Then give reasons for your choices and compare with your classmates. Work in groups of five. And the following expressions on the screen can help you with your dialogue. After a while, I will ask some of you to act out your dialogue. |

Sample dialogue one
A: Hi, How is everything going ? Have you finished your work ?
B: I’ve chosen five events among ten. but I’m not sure whether they are the best Could you give me some suggestion?
C: Give us in details.
B: The first event I chose is “France elected a new President”. It is an important event these days. I think it may have a great effect on international affairs. The second is “There is a rumor that a large company wants to build a factory in our town .” What is your opinion?
A: I agree with your first choice, but why do you choose the second one? We should report something true to our readers, not rumors . Maybe it would be better to choose “A Chinese scientist has invented a new car engine that does not pollute the air.” It shows our country’s science advancement.
B: Good idea. Then I’d rather choose “2000 people in our city were happy today and moved into new buildings” and “China beat Brazil 5-1 in football. ” They are both exciting news. They also reflect the improvement in sports.
D: I think you made a good choice . What about the fifth one ? Have you decided yet ?
B: I think two events are suitable . I really don’t know which is more important. It is hard to choose . They are “Food prices are going up.” and “200 people died in an earthquake in Turkey. ”
D: I don’t think we should choose international events too much. Our readers want to know about their life. And this thing is related to everybody’s life.
B: It sound reasonable . Let’s think them over. Thank you for your advice.
Sample dialogue two
A: Ok , let’s begin, what do you think of these events ?
B: I think we should choose the story about the three children in our city . This event is the most important because the people in our city need to know about this.
C: Maybe it would be better to choose the story about the earthquake in Turkey. 200 people died there, not just three.
B: I agree that we should report that too, but the story about the children is more important, what is your opinion?
D: We should report the story about China beating Brazil in football.
A: Why do you choose that event?
D: Because it is unusual . The Brazil team is one of the best in the world . Our readers will be happy and proud to hear that our team won such a big victory.
A: I think we should also choose the news about the Chinese scientist who has invented a new car engine. It is an important invention.
B: I agree. So we have four events :the children , the earthquake , the football game and the new car engine. We must choose one more.
A: I think we should choose the story about the 2000 people who happily move into new buildings. That’s a happy story and will make our readers feel good.
B: Maybe it would be better to choose the story about the food prices going up ? That is something our reader need to know about.
D: I think we should report the rumor about the company that wants to build a factory in our town.
A: I disagree, we shouldn’t report something that is just a rumor. We don’t know if it is true.
4.活动评价
形成性评价的任务是通过多种评价手段和方法以,对学生学习过程中表现出的兴趣、态度、参与度、学习策略、所取得的成绩等方面做出评价。其目的就是要学生认识自我,树立自信,激发学生们的学习热情,帮助学生有效地发展学习策略,促进每个学生在已有水平上有新的发展。形成性评价的形式方法在很多的书上都有介绍,但是如何制定可操作且切合实际的评价指标和标准却不是一件容易的事。比如组织学生互相评价对方或他人应该属于哪一个等级或档次,光是设计一个 A B C D表格是没有多大意义的,因为它没有列出详细的评价标准,更没有说明根据什么样的表现可以归入哪一个级别档次。下面的表格是借鉴瑞典伯根大学Angela Hessengale 博士的评价标准。 |

D2( ) 我基本听不懂同学的观点,只能听出课文内出现10个新闻标题内容片断。
D1( )我能快速地选出读者最关心的5个新闻标题内容,也有自己的理由,但将这些理由用英语表达出来难度很大。
C2( )我基本能听明白同学的观点,并且能使用一些曾经学过的单词、短语和课文所提供的8个句式,但前提是对方说得很慢,很清楚而且愿意帮助我理解。

| 当然,宜在实践中根据情况选择和使用简明有效、形式多样的评价方法,使发展性评价理念落到实处,并重视对实践的不断反思和改进,为保证评价的科学性和公正性,笔者坚持评价主体多元化,提倡学生、同伴、教师共同参与评价。例如,在本堂课就可采用以下的评价工具进行多元评价 |

5.活动总结
Up to now , we've talked a lot about new media. By speaking,we've become more familiar with news media. At the same time, we've learnt some useful words and phrases. You should remember them and practising them freely and exactly . After class , please collect more information about new media and talk about them with your classmates. Don't forget to preview Reading Part.
这是活动的延伸,也是语言运用技能的进一步提升,为阅读教学打下伏笔,也为保证整单元教学打下良好的基础。
教学反思
本教学设计符合高中新课程标准要求,充分体现任务型教学。1)任务有明确的目的----从10个新闻标题内容中选出读者最关心的 5个。 2)任务有真实意义 ,筛选出的新闻内容十分贴近生活。3)任务涉及了信息的接收、处理和传递。学生在挑选过程中必然对所得的新闻标题内容进行思考、讨论。4)在完成任务中使用英语。在思考讨论过程中运用提供的8个句式进行英语对话。 5)任务完成后有评价结果。在设计本任务时本人以学生们的生活经验和兴趣为出发点,本设计活动有助于英语口语的学习,也使学生懂得与人沟通,与人合作的重要性。
