What do you like?

Teaching Aims& Requirements:
1. Revise “like something and like doing something”.
2. Learn to say 1) like …very much/a lot/a little
2) not like …at all/very much
3. Ability: Express one’s likes and dislikes in the third personal singular, using the present tense.

Teaching Aids:
1. A Recorder 2. The Pictures in SB Page 41

Teaching Procedure:
  Step1 Revision
1. Revise the chant from SB Page 37, Lesson94.
2. Check yesterday’s homework
  Step2 Presentation
1. Work in groups: Chain work
Get the students to ask and answer, using 1) Do you like…? 2) What color/food/drink/fruit…do you like? 3) How do you like it/them?
2. Use the pictures in this lesson to learn to say “I like…very much/a lot/better/best.” “I don’t like…very much/at all.” Make sure that the students know when to say “(not) like…a lot/very much/a litter/at all”.
  Step3 Practice (ASSESSMENT 2)
1. Pair work: Student A asks the question in the “Presentation” above and Student B answers them, using the pictures. After that, Student A fills in the form below according to Student B’s answers.

2. Have the students say a few sentences about the form. First (the student whose names are in the form above) use “I (don’t) like…”. Then , (the other student) use “***(doesn’t) like…”.

Scan part2, then answer the following questions.
Question 1: What does Li Shan like to eat?
Question 2: What food doesn’t she like at all?
Question 3: Where is her father from?
Question 4: Does her mother like rice or noodles?
Question 5: How many people are there in her family?
  Step5 Practice (ASSESSMENT 4)
Say a few sentences about one’s family, like Part 2.
  Step6 Listening practice (ASSESSMENT 4)
1. Listen to the tape and fill in the form

2. Check the answers.
  Step7 Read after the tape.
  Step8 Write something about the students’ likes and dislikes in class.

Homework
1. Read aloud Lesson 97 or recite it. (The students who are really poor in English can read it only.)
2. Write a short passage about one’s likes and dislikes.
3. Finish off the exercises in the workbook of this lesson.

  Appendix Ways of today’s assessment (see which group of four is the winner.)
Assessments 1&2: Get one mark for one student if he or she finishes the work, but two marks when he or she does a food job.
Assessment 3: Everyone who can say a few sentences can get three marks.
Assessment 4: Get one mark for each correct answer.

本课设计说明与课后自评:
  这节课是为试验班学生在参加试验初期所设计的。教学内容不多,难点是第三人称单数现在时,以及表达很(不)喜欢(做)某事.所采用的评价方法简单,但能激起初一年级学生的学习兴趣,培养他们的团队精神.利用四人小组为单位的合作学习方式,能为学生提供相互学习相互帮助的机会,养成良好的学习风气。课堂上,学生参与课堂活动的面广、兴趣高,不同层次的学生都得到了训练,当堂掌握了教学内容,基本达到了教学目的。
